Saying: The engine's runnin' but ain't nobody driving
Translation: Not overly-intelligent.

Saying: S/He's a few fries short a happy meal
Translation: Not too smart.

Saying: His/Her wheel barrow is loaded but a few bricks shy a load
Translation: Same, not too smart or just plain dumb

Saying: Tighter than bark on a tree.
Translation: Not very generous.

Translation: Same, not very generous

Saying: He thinks the sun come up just to hear him crow.
Translation: He has a pretty high opinion of himself.

Translation: (self-explanatory).

Translation: Talks a lot.
