Blonde Joke

I urgently needed a few days off work, but I knew the Boss would not allow me to take a leave. I thought that maybe if I acted "CRAZY" then he would tell me to take a few days off. So I hung upside down on the ceiling and made funny noises. My co-worker (who's blonde) asked me what I was doing? I told her that I was pretending to be a light bulb so that the Boss would think I was "CRAZY" and give me a few days off. A few minutes later the Boss came into the office and asked "What are you doing ?" I told him I was a light bulb. He said "You are clearly stressed out. Go home and recuperate for a couple of days". I jumped down and walked out of the office. When my co-worker (the blonde) followed me, the Boss asked her " ...And where do you think you're going?"

She said, "I'm going home too, I can't work in the dark!"

Tech Support - Problem with Upgrade

Dear Tech Support:

Last year I upgraded from Girlfriend 7.0 to Wife 1.0 . I soon noticed that the new program began unexpected child processing that took up a lot of space and valuable resources. In addition, Wife 1.0 installed itself into all other programs and now monitors all other system activity. Applications such as Poker Night 10.3 , Football 5.0 , Hunting and Fishing 7.5 , and Racing 3.6 no longer run , crashing the system whenever selected.

I can't seem to keep Wife 1.0 in the background while attempting to run my favorite applications. I'm thinking about going back to Girlfriend 7.0 , but the uninstall doesn't work on Wife 1.0 . Please help!

Thanks,
A Troubled User.

-----REPLY-----

Dear Troubled User:

This is a very common problem that men complain about.  Many people upgrade from Girlfriend 7.0 to Wife 1.0 , thinking that it is just a Utilities and Entertainment program. Wife 1.0 is an OPERATING SYSTEM and is designed by its Creator to run EVERYTHING !!! It is also impossible to delete Wife 1.0 and to return to Girlfriend 7.0 . It is impossible to uninstall, or purge the program files from the system once installed.

You cannot go back to Girlfriend 7.0 because Wife 1.0 is designed to not allow this. Look in your Wife 1.0 manual under Warnings-Alimony - Child Support. I recommend that you keep Wife1.0 and work on improving the situation. I suggest installing the background application 'Yes Dear' to alleviate software augmentation.

The best course of action is to enter the command C:\ APOLOGIZE because ultimately you will have to give the APOLOGIZE command before the system will return to normal anyway.

Wife 1.0 is a great program, but it tends to be very high maintenance . Wife 1.0 comes with several support programs, such as Clean and Sweep 3.0 , Cook It 1.5 and Do Bills 4.2.

However, be very careful how you use these programs. Improper use will cause the system to launch the program Nag 9.5 . Once this happens, the only way to improve the performance of Wife 1.0 is to purchase additional software. I recommend Flowers 2.1 and Diamonds 5.0 !

WARNING!!! DO NOT , under any circumstances, install Secretary With Short Skirt 3.3 . This application is not supported by Wife 1.0 and will cause irreversible damage to the operating system.

Best of luck,
Tech Support

Thinking about flying an F-14?

Below is an article written by Rick Reilly of Sports Illustrated. He details his experiences when given the opportunity to fly in a F-14 Tomcat. If you aren't laughing out loud by the time you get to "Milk Duds," your sense of humor is seriously broken.

004Someday you may be invited to fly in the back-seat of one of your country's most powerful fighter jets. Many of you already have . John Elway, John Stockton, Tiger Woods to name a few If you get this opportunity, let me urge you, with the greatest sincerity... Move to Guam . Change your name. Fake your own death! Whatever you do . . Do Not Go ! ! !The U.S. Navy invited me to try it. I was thrilled. I was pumped. I was toast! I should've known when they told me my pilot would be Chip (Biff) King of Fighter Squadron 213 at Naval Air Station Oceana in Virginia Beach .

Whatever you're thinking a Top Gun named Chip (Biff) King looks like, triple it. He's about six-foot, tan, ice-blue eyes, wavy surfer hair, finger-crippling handshake -- the kind of man who wrestles dyspeptic alligators in his leisure time. If you see this man, run the other way. Fast.

Biff King was born to fly. His father, Jack King, was for years the voice of NASA missions. ("T-minus 15 seconds and counting ..." Remember?) Chip would charge neighborhood kids a quarter each to hear his dad. Jack would wake up from naps surrounded by nine-year-olds waiting for him to say, "We have a liftoff"

Biff was to fly me in an F-14D Tomcat, a ridiculously powerful $60 million weapon with nearly as much thrust as weight. Not unlike Colin Montgomerie, I was worried about getting airsick, so the night before the flight I asked Biff if there was something I should eat the next morning.

"Bananas," he said.

"For the potassium?" I asked.

"No," Biff said, "because they taste about the same coming up as they do going down."

The next morning, out on the tarmac, I had on my flight suit with my name sewn over the left breast. (No call sign -like Crash or Sticky or Leadfoot . But, still, very cool.) I carried my helmet in the crook of my arm, as Biff had instructed. If ever in my life I had a chance to nail Nicole Kidman, this was it.

A fighter pilot named Psycho gave me a safety briefing and then fastened me into my ejection seat, which, when employed, would "egress" me out of the plane at such a velocity that I would be immediately knocked unconscious

Just as I was thinking about aborting the flight, the canopy closed over me, and Biff gave the ground crew a thumbs-up. In minutes we were firing nose up at 600 mph. We leveled out and then canopy-rolled over another F-14.

Those 20 minutes were the rush of my life. Unfortunately, the ride lasted 80. It was like being on the roller coaster at Six Flags Over Hell. Only without rails. We did barrel rolls, snap rolls, loops, yanks and banks. We dived, rose and dived005 again, sometimes with a vertical velocity of 10,000 feet per minute. We chased another F-14, and it chased us.We broke the speed of sound. Sea was sky and sky was sea. Flying at 200 feet we did 90-degree turns at 550 mph, creating a G force of 6.5, which is to say I felt as if 6.5 times my body weight was smashing against me, thereby approximating life as Mrs. Colin Montgomerie. And I egressed the bananas.

And I egressed the pizza from the night before. And the lunch before that. I egressed a box of Milk Duds from the sixth grade. I made Linda Blair look polite. Because of the G's, I was egressing stuff that never thought would be egressed. I went through not one airsick bag, but two.

Biff said I passed out. Twice. I was coated in sweat. At one point, as we were coming in upside down in a banked curve on a mock bombing target and the G's were flattening me like a tortilla and I was in and out of consciousness, I realized I was the first person in history to throw down.

I used to know 'cool'. Cool was Elway throwing a touchdown pass, or Norman making a five-iron bite. But now I really know 'cool'. Cool is guys like Biff, men with cast-iron stomachs and freon nerves. I wouldn't go up there again for Derek Jeter's black book, but I'm glad Biff does every day, and for less a year than a rookie reliever makes in a home stand. 006

A week later, when the spins finally stopped, Biff called. He said he and the fighters had the perfect call sign for me. Said he'd send it on a patch for my flight suit.

"What is it ?" I asked.

"Two Bags."

Hurricane Katrina

It was 2 years ago today that Hurricane Katrina came ashore and forever changed the Mississippi and Louisiana Gulf Coast. Everyone I know from Mississippi lost someone or something from the storm. Most everyone in the US has been effected by this storm. Please say a prayer for everyone that was affected by the storm.

Now for my rant. Last night, the CBS Nightly News started a story called Katrina + 2. This story ticked me off. There was no mention of Mississippi, only New Orleans. Yes New Orleans suffered a major loss, but it was not the only place. New Orleans loss was devastating to the local economy. My problem with it all... the majority of New Orleans that was damaged was in low income areas that homes were never supposed to be built. This land was supposed to be wasteland due to the area being so far below sea level, but it was built on because it was cheap. Now most people in that area cannot get private insurance on their homes, so the federal government is going to assist in getting flood insurance. The story also pointed out that there are several homes that still need to be torn down because they are unsafe. I did not see 1 person that was attempting to do this themselves... basically it was short of telling the government that they need to come and do it for them.

The Mississippi Gulf Coast is different. The majority of homes that were damaged were in areas that no one imagined could ever be destroyed by storm surge. Many homes have been there for hundreds of years without ever being destroyed by a hurricane. Yet you do not see anything about this on the news. Why???

The majority of New Orleans is lazy. They have always had everything handed to them by the government. The majority of them blame everything on the government and they want the government to pay for everything. They want new homes built by the government. Now look at Mississippi. The majority of residents there have gotten off their asses and started doing the work themselves. They have cleaned up their yards, they have torn down unsafe structures, and they have started rebuilding. They are not sitting in line with their hand out waiting on their check. They have gone back to work. They have spent their savings to rebuild. They are trying to overcome the disaster and to make their homes safe again.

I have gone to the Gulf Coast a couple of times since Katrina. I remember standing at the Palace Casino in Biloxi and thinking... This doesn't look that bad. Then I thought about it. There used to be homes and business all through here. That used to be the Biloxi Schooner restaurant. Now it is an area that looks like it has been cleared by a bull dozer. There are a few trees, a couple of trailers and some bare concrete pads.

Please get the word out. The media still thinks that New Orleans was the only place damaged. Let people remember that this damaged the entire Gulf Coast, Florida, Alabama, Mississippi, and Louisiana. NEW ORLEANS WAS NOT THE ONLY PLACE!!

Trying to register for a college class.

Today I tried to register for college classes. Of course, I have to park in the lower 40. Next it tried to register for classes and their computer is down. I don't understand why you would let you computer system go down on the first day of school. There is around 30 people waiting and they keep piling in.

Sitting here, I cannot believe some people. One group is sitting here bragging on what their father makes. To me 13 an hour is not that great and that is the highest. Another girl sitting here is wearing blue jeans, which would be fine except for the rip in the crotch that shows all. Next the wanna be thug comes in and acts like everyone in the room is his homie... but his shorts got from his knees to his ankles. Every time I see something like that, I have to resist the urge to give them a wedgie.

I do have to say that there are a bunch of spoiled bitches here. Some have only gone to their first class, if any, and they are already complaining about home work. I want to say to them, what they hell did you expect? It's college... at least it is only community college.

Now the 13 an hour daughter is over here talking about her sister being at UNC and putting everything on a credit card. She says that her sister plans on putting everything on multiple credit cards, paying off one, and letting the others go and not paying them.

Update: I did not get registered for the class. The class I wanted to take was a CPT coding class. The computer system never came up in the 1.5 hours I waited. Finally they decided to fill add/drop cards and put them in the order they recieved them. They wanted a contact number and would call you if you if the class you wanted was full. My problem, the class I wanted to take had a prerequisite. I told them to put me in that class, but there was a prerequisite for it. Basically to take 1 class, I would have to 2 classes over a course of a year so that I can take the one class I wanted to take. No thanks.

Thanks for letting me waste almost 2 hours of my life for nothing.
